How did you get into comics? In 4th grade I bought an X-men that featured Jean Grey, and at one point she was naked, but for a few inconveniently placed trails of smoke.
Why did you go into comics? I wanted to tell stories visually. At the time, movies seemed too hard to make without a film crew and a couple million dollars. At least I felt like I could have more control over my own stories in comics.
So when are you going to make a comic? I have jerk. The Miniest-Mini Comic, be it meek and a novelty, is a best seller in St. Louis. Father Blank’s Roadside Confessional you might be able to find. somewhere. I did an issue of Steve Higgins’ Myriad. I’ve colored some cool stuff. Anyway, I’m working on something meatier.
What’s your proudest moment? I don’t have kids yet, so I can be honest and say something really awesome I did. I was driving a cop car and I had 5 stars. I managed to launch my car onto a roof but I was surrounded by cops below. I was doing donuts when a helicopter showed up and opened fire. My hood popped open and the engine was smoking. I bailed out and let the car drift over the side, exploding with a chain reaction of 4 police cars below. I think the helicopter killed me after that.
What’s the secret Nick? I don’t know… I guess you’ve just gotta find something you love to do and then… do it for the rest of your life.
Top 5 Favorite Bands? Of all-time? Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Velvet Underground, The Beatles, and Talking Heads
Wow, those are really original. Yeah okay, but maybe they’re popular for a reason. I guess my personal top 5 would be Tricky, Beta Band, Grandaddy, Cornelius, and maybe Hot Chip.
Those are still pretty lame. Okay, Tom Waits, Guitar Wolf, Nick Cave, The Misfits, and the Dead Kennedies?
